Herkunft / Origin: Nordsee, westlich der Brown-Bank / North Sea, west of Brown-bank
Large tooth of a horse - this tooth was hidden for thousands of years in the sediment at the bottom of the North Sea. During the Ice Age, several 10000´s years ago the North Sea was no sea but a large grass land which was inhabited by large mammals like wooly rhinoceros, mammuth, bisons and horses.
After the end of the Ice Age the sea levels rised and these grass lands were flooded. Relics of horses from the North Sea are rare finds from fishers who pick them up from the ground with their nets. This tooth shows beautiful and well preservd structures. After its find it was slowly de-salted in fresh water and then prepaired with a special resin to conservate the tooth.
This horse tooth is around 130000-40000 years old, it is an original tooth - no replica!
